Manchester United have officially unveiled their new Adidas home kit for the 2026/27 season, with the Red Devils set to break tradition
Manchester United have unveiled their new home strip for the 2026/27 campaign – and will wear it for the first time when they take on Nottingham Forest this weekend.
Fans got their first look at the new kit on Wednesday at Old Trafford when an enormous poster on the stadium’s exterior overlooking the forecourt was unveiled. It has now been formally launched, going on sale at 9am on Thursday morning.
It draws inspiration from the Red Devils’ strips of the 1970s and features Adidas’ iconic three stripes on the sleeves. Fans took to social media to give their reaction to the new kit, one user beamed: “This looks beautiful,” while a second added: “I like this. Looks clean and slick.”

However, others hit out at the design, one said: “Adidas with the absurd stripes this time around.” A second added: “When does the Adidas deal end? As much as I like this kit – it’s replicated every single year with just a thicker stripe or a collar / lack thereof.” While another slammed: “Cancel the contract with Adidas! They always produce horrendous kits for us!”
The Adidas kit will be worn when United make their Champions League comeback next season and will see the deal with the sportswear manufacturer return to standard levels, with a £10million reduction for non-Champions League campaigns built into the agreement.
The new strip will have its first official appearance on Saturday, when United Women wear it against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their final WSL match of the season.
Michael Carrick’s squad will then give it its Old Trafford bow on Sunday, as Brazil midfielder Casemiro wears it in the last home fixture of his United spell. The first team will then sport it once more on the final day of the season at Brighton.
In doing so, United will be abandoning tradition as, for the first time, they will unveil next season’s shirt at the conclusion of an existing campaign.
It’s become increasingly customary for clubs to debut their new kits in their final home match, a tradition that Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have upheld for several years. However, this will mark the first occasion that United adopt the same approach.
The Man United 2026/27 Home Kit is on sale at several retailers including Fanatics. Fans can opt for ‘replica’ or ‘authentic’ versions, both of which are also available at Kitbag, Sports Direct and the official Man United Store, with prices starting at £85 for adult shirts and £55 for kids.
