As the search for the next Bond actor continues the White House has thrown their hat into the ring in a social media post floating the idea US president Donald Trump should become the next Bond
White House has posted a bizarre suggestion for who they think the next James Bond should be – US president Donald Trump. The Orange Manbaby, 79, now seems to fancy himself as the next 007.
His team shared an odd mock up of him as the hard-drinking, womanising spy – complete with a tuxedo and clutching a gun – in response to a post from Amazon MGM Studios, saying they were on the search for the next star of the franchise’s next instalment.
The black and white 007-styled poster featured Trump’s silhouette and the title read: “Make America Great Again.”
Social media users mocked the odd post, with one saying: “Nice meme, and I want America great again too. But I’m not going to pretend everything is great while my wallet is getting hit by gas , inflation, and another foreign conflict.”
Another user fumed: “Make America Great Again by posting Facebook uncle tier AI images every 6 hours. This is what the people voted for. Not all those promises Trump made during his campaign trail.”
A third user posted: “Ok so he went from being Jesus (doctor) to 007, i dont know if he has a complex or because oh his age he is starting to have dementia. someone please give him his meds.”
Trump also appeared as the captain of a warship in the Strait of Hormuz in another madcap post over the weekend. They are the latest weird images featuring the president, who previously posted a controversial picture of himself as Jesus and as the Pope.
He previously shared an AI-generated picture depicting him as Jesus-like “healer” performing a miracle on a sickly man. He denied he was depicting himself as Jesus Christ, instead claiming he was a doctor.
Amazon MGM Studios – who acquired the rights to the James Bond franchise in February 2025 – has hired acclaimed casting director Nina Gold to spearhead the hunt for the next Bond.
The search for the seventh official Bond movie actor comes as Daniel Craig ends his Bond run in the iconic franchise stretching back to 1962.
In a statement to Variety, Amazon MGM Studios said: “The search for the next James Bond is underway. While we don’t plan to comment on specific details during the casting process, we’re excited to share more news with 007 fans as soon as the time is right.”
The next instalment in the Bond franchise is to be directed by Denis Villeneuve who previously directed the “Dune” franchise, “Arrival” and “Sicario.” Actors including Jacob Elordi, Callum Turner and Aaron Taylor-Johnson are rumoured frontrunners for the lead role.
