There are numerous options available both within the Premier League and further afield. Here, the Daily Star Sport delves into the top headlines surrounding United.

Tonali ‘on the market’

Sandro Tonali is reportedly on the market and set to depart Newcastle United this summer, as per Corriere della Sera. The Italian newspaper suggests that United are leading the race to sign the midfielder. They are anticipating a substantial bid from a Premier League side. The Reds seemingly have an edge over other English clubs.

United are reportedly prepared to welcome Tonali, who is not ruling them out as a potential destination. Despite being an Italian playing overseas, there are Serie A clubs showing interest in the lifelong Milan supporter, but Newcastle’s asking price appears too steep for the likes of Juventus.

These reports suggest it would take well over £70million to secure a deal for Tonali. Other Italian media outlets estimate he could fetch as much as £87m.

United eye record deal

United have expressed interest in Christos Tzolis over recent weeks, according to Gazet van Antwerpen. Aston Villa and Juventus are also reported to have shown similar interest, but the publication suggests that United are in the race.

Sport Witness adds that the two Premier League sides have made enquiries about the Club Brugge player. Tzolis has netted 19 goals and provided another 24 assists across 49 appearances in all competitions, with three additional matches remaining in the Belgian Pro League champions’ play-offs.

There is believed to be an acknowledgement in Bruges that the Greece international will depart this summer. Crystal Palace tabled £28m a year ago but his club now desire any transfer to represent a Belgian record fee.

The current benchmark stands at £34m, which Milan agreed to pay Brugge for Ardon Jashari last summer. Having maintained their position on securing more for the Switzerland international than they received for Igor Thiago, it appears that will form the foundation for any discussions.
