Two women launched an attack on another woman during the Gold Cup at Cheltenham Festival.
The pair, thought to be mother and daughter, reportedly assaulted a woman in her 20s by allegedly pulling out a chunk of her hair and repeatedly striking her around the head during the incident on Friday, March 13.
The assault reportedly occurred in the ladies’ loo at the Evesham Road site around 1.10pm. Security guards then escorted the two women off the racecourse, according to Gloucestershire Police.
The force are now calling for information and have released images of two women they wish to question in relation to the incident, reports Gloucestershire Live.
One of the women was described as being in her 50s, with long straight blonde hair just below shoulder length.
She was wearing a black and white tweed cape-style coat, a black top, black tights and black knee-length boots.
The second woman was described as being in her 20s, with long curly blonde hair. She was dressed in a fluffy brown coat and knee-high heeled boots.
Police acknowledge that the images are not the sharpest, but anyone who recognises the women is asked to provide information online by filling out the following form quoting occurrence 53260012005.
In a statement, Gloucestershire Police said: “Police have released images of two women they would like to identify in connection with an assault which took place at Cheltenham Racecourse.
“It was reported that the women, who are believed to be mother and daughter, assaulted a woman in her 20s by pulling a clump of her hair out and hitting her around the head multiple times.
“Following the incident, which took place in the women’s toilet at the Evesham Road site at around 1.10pm on Friday 13 March, the women were escorted from the racecourse by security guards.
“Investigating officers have completed a number of enquiries since the incident, but are yet to identify those involved, and they are now asking for the public’s help.”
