Around 12 fire engines are currently tackling a huge fire at an industrial unit in Bradford with all nearby residents told to keep their doors and windows closed
A significant blaze has broke out at an industrial unit in Bradford, casting a huge column of grey smoke over the nearby area.
Numerous fire teams are battling the inferno at Stobarts Body Shop on Mulgrave Street, with 12 pumps and backup crews present at the scene. Residents have been advised to keep their windows and doors shut.
The fire service also warned people to avoid the surrounding roads, including Mulgrave Street, Mount Street, Pickhill Street, and Seymor Street, while they advised people to keep windows and doors shut.
The fire service stated: “We currently have 12 pumps and supporting crews at a fire at Stobarts Body Shop in Bradford (Mulgrave Street), reports YorkshireLive.
“Please avoid the surrounding roads (including Mulgrave Street, Mount Street, Pickhill Street, Seymor Street). Please can residents in the surrounding areas keep all doors and windows closed.
“Please avoid the area. Further updates will follow.”
As of 9pm, the fire service said the blaze was still ongoing into the night.
WYFRS said: “The incident remains ongoing with the five pumps using one large jet and two aerial ladder platforms to tackle the fire.
“Please continue to avoid the area and keep doors and windows closed.”
