Manchester United can start concentrating on the summer transfer window as the campaign draws to a close. The Red Devils have clinched third spot in the Premier League and will be back in the Champions League next season.
Michael Carrick has proved a triumph as interim boss and looks set to land the role permanently. The 44-year-old manager has previously acknowledged his involvement in the club’s planning ahead of the transfer window.
While finding a replacement for Casemiro will rank amongst the squad’s main concerns, there are other positions that Carrick might opt to bolster. Here, Daily Star Sport examines some of the biggest stories surrounding Old Trafford.

Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport has reported that Juventus star Bremer has caught United’s attention. Michael Carrick’s side are said to be “on his trail”, alongside rivals Liverpool, reports the Mirror.
It is suggested that the 29-year-old will “listen to possible offers” in the summer, with the Turin outfit in danger of failing to secure Champions League qualification.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juventus would contemplate offering the Brazilian fresh terms, with his current deal running until 2029 and featuring a £50million release clause.
While Bremer is considered content at Juve, the defender is also reportedly “in a hurry” to claim major silverware as he approaches his peak years. The Brazil international has secured one Coppa Italia since his move from Torino in 2022.
Bremer will look to taste glory on the international stage as part of Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazil squad this summer.
At domestic level, the centre-half has featured 31 times for Luciano Spalletti’s team across all competitions.
Man Utd star sacrificed for deal
Sky Sport Deutschland has suggested that United must offload Noussair Mazraoui if the club hopes to finalise a swoop for Borussia Dortmund full-back Julian Ryerson.
The club are believed to be amongst the teams tracking the Norway international.
Ryerson has chalked up 15 assists in 31 Bundesliga outings this campaign, which allegedly “has not gone unnoticed” by United.
He has two years left on his contract and is anticipated to be valued at approximately £26m.
The Sky Sport Deutschland report reveals that United are hunting for a right-back to provide competition for Diogo Dalot but any pursuit of Ryerson will hinge on Mazraoui’s departure from Old Trafford.
The United defender joined from Bayern Munich in 2024 and has featured in 10 league starts this campaign.
