A 35-year-old glam model says that a series of terrible family tragedies pushed her to becoming a cam girl. The move turned out to be the best decision she ever made
A model has claimed that a series of family tragedies left her broken and jobless, but that she has now found her true calling – being a cam girl. Stormi Mack’s world was flipped upside down when her loving mother tragically took her own life.
The 35-year-old and her brother quickly took responsibility for their family’s needs, becoming full time carers for her uncle and schizophrenic nan. However, when her brother suffered a shocking motorbike crash that left him unable to work, the model was pushed to her limits – juggling bills and family needs.
But when lockdown hit and her work dried up, she was left feeling like the world had caved in on her until she discovered the adult industry. “I never wanted to be put in this position again and I was going to make damn sure I would never need to have these worries again,” said Stormi.
“I had exhausted my savings prior to lockdown on my nan’s house, with my brother’s help and money too.
“Not to mention that saving was near impossible in any of my previous jobs, because after the bills were paid, there really wasn’t much left each month.”
Stormi was her nan’s primary carer for 14 years and in 2019 she quit her job to make more time for her family’s needs.
The model, from Dorset, left her office role after she made her evening beauty treatment work her main career.
Not being tied to the office allowed her to prioritise her nan’s needs – until lockdown hit.
Stormi said: “She became really unwell in 2019 and it was evident to me very quickly that I couldn’t get the flexibility I needed in order to care for her in my current job.
“Fuelled by the desperation, being reminded how very alone my brother and I were, I started to offer free beauty treatments every night after my office job, working until 11pm most nights until I quickly built up enough clientele to leave my job.
“The day I handed in my notice couldn’t have come quicker and the relief I felt in being able to work around my nan’s needs was immeasurable.
“My business was booming, life was less stressful, and my nan was happier and improving as a result of our extra care then lockdown hit three months later. You literally couldn’t write it.
“There I was being told I couldn’t work, given no government help, and was completely helpless to earn to survive.”
Fortunately, in her spare time, Stormi had built up a rather large following online due to her modelling work that she posted on social media.
Through this, she began to see more and more creators of a similar size starting in the adult industry.
This encouraged her to start a page which quickly blew up – providing an instant income and the flexibility she needed to help her nan.
The model said: “After starting with a few home-based lockdown cam shows, I realised I loved it and I started to divide my working hours between content creation and cam work, including studio-based shows.”
“Between lockdowns, I would travel to London and work in their studios, alongside many more home-based shows too.”
The cam girl work completely flipped Stormi’s situation around as the model found her “calling”.
Stormi added: “This was my calling and, as hard as it was in the past, I’m so glad that I experienced all the bumps before finding my feet in this vocation, because I truly appreciate the job satisfaction I now feel and the financial and time freedom it brings me too.
“The longer I work as a cam model, the more my love grows for it.
“Throughout all the subsequent rollercoaster moments caring for our nan, it had never been easier to be there for her, wherever it was needed.
“The support and understanding in this industry, from the companies, managers, other models, and also my online customers, is far greater than I’ve experienced in any other job.”
Sadly, Stormi’s nan passed away in January 2025.
