Casemiro’s heartfelt goodbye to Manchester United at Old Trafford left his wife Anna Mariana emotionally moved.

The 34-year-old won’t feature for the club on Sunday against Brighton, with Michael Carrick confirming the midfielder has already left the club, bringing his four-year spell with the Red Devils to a close. Casemiro has forged a strong bond with the United supporters since his £70million switch from Real Madrid in 2022.

He savoured a poignant farewell to fans following their 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest last week in what marked his final appearance as a United player. The Brazil international and his stunning wife Anna have made Manchester their home since then.

The bombshell WAG has already become tearful about their departure and the supporters’ affection for her husband. During United’s 3-1 home triumph against Aston Villa in March, fans chanted ‘One more year, one more year Casemiro’ after the Brazilian found the net and celebrated before the North West corner.

Casemiro subsequently revealed she wept following that moment. He said: “So, it’s just gratitude for this love, it is so exciting. I am hoping not to cry on my last day, as it is such a beautiful experience. My wife already cried, the other day, when the fans were asking for one more year.

“So, I just want to enjoy it, enjoy all the moments and I will be a United fan for the rest of my life.” Anna was once again moved to tears last Saturday as she was spotted crying at the start of the match.

She was swiftly consoled by Matheus Cunha’s wife, Gabriela Nogueira da Cunha. After the game, Anna shared a heartfelt message to the United fans on Instagram, affirming their enduring support for the club.

She penned: “What a special day, and what an unforgettable journey these past four years have been. It’s been beautiful to see the love everyone has for @casemiro and our family! Sad to be leaving, but with a heart completely full of love.

“To the fans, thank you so very much. We’ve been like great friends throughout all these years, and we’ll continue supporting our Manchester United together! Once a Red, always a Red. Forever a Red Devils.”

Casemiro, who’s set to move to the MLS, has had the most productive season of his United career, netting nine league goals. The club secured Champions League qualification earlier this month and are assured of a third-place finish.
