A science teacher, already facing charges for allegedly having sex with a student in a classroom cupboard, has now been accused of abusing five other teenagers, including a girl – reportedly engaging in sexual activity in a Hummer and at a golf course car park.

Maris Nichols, 25, was re-arrested on Thursday in Georgia, US, nearly a fortnight after she was initially charged with sexually assaulting a student at least twice, in the school cupboard and in a parked Hummer, according to 11Alive.

She now faces 11 additional charges, including child molestation, tampering with evidence and grooming, involving five new accusers – one of whom she is also alleged to have had sex with in a public location.

The currently suspended teacher at Alexander High School in Douglasville, where she also held the position of football operations manager, is alleged to have had sexual relations with a boy in his car at a golf course – just a day after she’s accused of having sex with the first complainant in his Hummer.

She is also accused of sending explicit messages to other teenagers about her sexual fantasies – even using a sex toy during video calls with at least two teens under 16, according to an arrest warrant obtained by WAGA.

Nichols allegedly sent explicit photos to a girl and encouraged her to watch the “Fifty Shades of Grey” series before asking to discuss the risqué films.

Just three days prior to her first arrest, she instructed one of the teens she had been messaging to erase their communications, the warrant stated.

The complaint did not specify the ages of the alleged victims, only that they were all teenagers.

At least four were students at Alexander High School, where Nichols had been employed since May 2023.

“Upon learning of the alleged misconduct, the district immediately launched an investigation. Student safety is the district’s highest priority,” the Douglas County School System announced in a letter to parents.

“The alleged behaviour is unacceptable and violates the professional standards all employees are required to uphold.”

Nichols is a graduate of Liberty University, a private evangelical Christian school associated with the Southern Baptist Convention of Virginia known for its strict socialising policy, under which students are expected “to abstain from sexual activity outside of a biblically ordained marriage,” according to its website.
