A woman came up with an unhinged idea to sneak a bottle of wine into prison – and it wasn’t pretty. While being processed into jail earlier this month, Michigan woman Monique Megchiani was discovered to have concealed a “stolen, unopened bottle of Cupcake Vineyards Pinot Grigio inside her vagina”, according to investigators.

Megchiani, 48, was charged with attempting to smuggle contraband into a penal institution as a result of her unique techniques of trying to have a good time on the inside.

The woman was arrested earlier this month for trespassing at a CVS pharmacy in Grand Traverse, a store which she was barred from. According to police reports, she appeared at the business on May 9 and allegedly stole wine, which she chugged down in the shop’s bathroom.

After being hospitalised due to “high intoxication”, Megchiani was discharged from a local medical centre and “immediately returned” to CVS on May 10.

There, cops found her at the checkout counter for “trespassing on property again.” At the time, the arresting officer was unaware that “Megchiani stole another bottle of Cupcake Pinot Grigio and hid the bottle on her person.”

Megchiani was cuffed and led into the back seat of a police vehicle. This process was less than smooth: “During this time, Megchiani advised that she was not able to get into the vehicle,” the report read. “After some convincing, Megchiani was able to slowly maneuver herself into the backseat.”

While she was being booked into jail, Megchiani received a “final check” from a female corrections deputy, according to a Traverse City Police Department report.

During that examination, “it was learned that Megchiani had concealed a bottle of Cupcake Vineyards Pinot Grigio inside her person.”

Megchiani reluctantly complied with the deputy’s order to remove the wine from the cavity. The screw-top container “was removed and was still intact,” cops reported. “The evidence was destroyed, due to biohazard concerns.”

Megchiani is being held in lieu of $6000 bond, charged with a prison contraband felony and a misdemeanor trespass count.

The Smoking Gun reports that Megchiani has previously worked as an associate counselor at a substance abuse treatment centre in Michigan, where she helps people “through the critical stages of detox from illicit drugs and alcohol abuse”.
