Timothy Rosser, 60, was last seen in Glencoe, Scotland, on Tuesday, and Police Scotland has said it is ‘out of character’ for him not to have contacted his family
Police are searching for a 60-year-old tourist who was last spotted in the Scottish Highlands on Tuesday.
Timothy Rosser, an American visitor, was last sighted in Glencoe driving his black MH rental car on the 19th, with officers stating it is “out of character” for him not to have been in touch with his family.
Authorities also revealed he had failed to arrive at pre-booked accommodation. His rental vehicle’s number plate was LE75 FNO. He has been described as white, 6ft 2in, of slim build, with short white hair. Sergeant Lewis Macleod, Police Scotland said: “Timothy has failed to check in to his pre-booked hotels in the area and it is out of character to not be in touch with his family.
“We are appealing for anyone with any information on his whereabouts, or who may have been hillwalking in the area on 19 May and seen anything which may assist our searches, to please come forward as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident 2326 of May 23 2026.
Police Scotland have also issued an appeal to trace Adam Chalmers, 36, who was last contacted at 12.40pm on Saturday in the Ben Lawers mountain range.
He had intended to climb the Meall Greigh, Meall Garbh, and An Stuc Munros, and in his final message he indicated he had one remaining to finish. He is white, 5ft 11in, of stocky build, and is bald with a medium-length brown beard.
He was dressed in a green and blue triangle-patterned fleece, a grey and black waterproof jacket, green walking trousers, a blue cap and brown boots. He was carrying a rucksack with orange elastic ties.
Inspector Iain Gillies stated: “We are appealing for anyone with any information on Adam’s whereabouts to come forward as soon as possible.
“We are particularly keen to speak with any fellow hillwalkers who were in the Lawers area on Saturday and may have seen Adam or knows anything which could help pinpoint his location and route.”
