A two-year-old lad was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after plummeting from a house window in Tameside.
Emergency services dashed to the scene on Buttermere Road in Ashton-under-Lyne on Saturday evening (May 23) following reports of a child’s fall from a house window. Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the toddler was hurried to hospital with injuries categorised as life-threatening.
The incident is not being viewed as suspicious and no arrests have been made. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are still underway, reports the Manchester Evening News. Photos reveal a significant number of ambulance crews on Buttermere Road. An air ambulance was seen landing on the grounds of Ashton Under Lyne church.
A spokesperson from GMP stated: “At around 5.40pm on Saturday 23 May 2026, we were called to reports of a child falling from a window of house on Buttermere Road in Ashton-under-Lyne in Tameside.
“The child – a two-year-old boy – was taken to hospital with injuries that are described as life-threatening.
“No arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.”
