The Russian President has reportedly been using injectables to boost his skin in a desperate bid to quash rumours that his health is waning
Vladimir Putin is spending thousands on altering his face with cosmetic procedures to look younger and more powerful, its claimed.
The Russian leader is reportedly calling in aesthetic experts to boost his appearance and may be using enhancements to improve his look amid rumours that his health is on the decline.
Experts say they believe the 73-year-old is using injectables to boost his skin and fill in sagging areas as he gets older.
Cosmetic surgeon Dr Jennifer Owens said the world leader’s face shows the tell-tale signs of cosmetic work with many areas of his face appearing fuller and smoother.
She said: “The most obvious visible sign is the under-eye area.
“In earlier images he appeared to have more pronounced under-eye bags, and that degree of improvement would be unlikely to happen naturally with age.
“His temples, cheeks and jawline also appear fuller and smoother despite these areas typically losing volume with age.”
Dr Owens told The Sun that she believes that he has had a mix of “surgical and non-surgical aesthetic procedures”.
“These may include lower blepharoplasty to address under-eye bags and full-face muscle relaxants (aka Botox) to soften dynamic lines while maintaining movement and lighten the pull down on the lower face”, she said.
“I also think he has had biostimulators such as Sculptra used strategically around the temples, cheeks and jawline to restore structure and maintain facial fullness.”
Biostimulators are injections that trigger the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin and take time to work as opposed to filler, wihich automatically fill the voids left by wrinkles and sagging skin.
But she does believe he has had filler in the bottom of his face including his chin.

Dr Owens said: “This would make sense for someone in such a public-facing role due to the minimal downtime and subtle, progressive results injectables can offer.”
It was claimed that Putin was recently spotted with a swollen face during the country’s Victory Day Parade in Moscow’s Red Square.
Ukrainian commentator Anton Gerashchenko took to social media to mock the man who has brought war to his country, saying: “The face of a ‘victor’ and the leader of a ‘superpower’.
“It seems sanctions have even reached Putin’s Botox.”
Dr Owens said Putin’s tweaks here and there could be costing him thousands of pounds, with possible botox injections and chin filler costing around £1,200 each, while biostimulators would cost £800 per vial, often requiring “multiple vials or sessions”.
Russia’s liberal New Times magazine has even written a piece titled “What has happened with Putin’s face?”
It spoke to four plastic surgeons who all agreed the Russian leader had probably had some kind of cosmetic surgery, saying it was likely he has had botox, an eye-lift on his lower lids, and an injection of cheek filler.
The aesthetic claims come as rumours also swirl about his health, with local reports claiming that Putin now never travels without a top thyroid cancer specialist surgeon.
Top Moscow oncologist Dr Yevgeny Selivanov has flown with Putin on dozens of trips.
The thyroid specialist is one of an army of around 13 medics who flank the Russian leader wherever he goes.
