This Philips OneUp changed my cleaning game

If you hate the chore of traditional mopping as much as I do – the heavy buckets, the water sloshing around, and the endless waiting for the floors to dry and the inability to walk freely – then you need to check out the Philips OneUp 5000 Electric Mop.

I’ve been putting it through its paces the past few weeks and it has completely transformed how I tackle my hard floors.

First off, the mop is completely lightweight. At just under 2kg, it is incredibly easy to whip out for daily spills or a full-house clean. Because it’s cordless, you’re not constantly hunting for a plug socket or tripping over wires, which makes moving from room to room an absolute breeze.

My favourite feature, though, has to be the separate water tanks. Traditional mops just push dirty water back around the floor, but the OneUp tech ensures you’re always cleaning with fresh water.

Plus, it uses up to 90% less water than a standard manual mop, meaning laminate and hard floors dry about 50% faster. No more barricading the kitchen and warning family and pets to stay away.

The 360-degree rotating hinge is another massive win. It maneuvers around chair legs, under kitchen cabinets, and into tight corners effortlessly.

As for the nooks and crannies – the mop head rotates meaning it can reach those difficult corners easily.

Battery-wise, you get up to 70 minutes of runtime on a single charge. That is more than enough time to get through a massive apartment or a standard family home without rushing.

When you’re done, you just pop the reusable microfibre pads straight into the washing machine.

A full charge takes about four hours, so you just need to remember to plug it back in when you’re done. But honestly, for how spotless and streak-free it leaves the floors, that is a tiny price to pay.
