A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an A&E doctor was stabbed at Hillingdon Hospital in West London. Detectives are investigating the knife attack
A man has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder following the stabbing of an A&E doctor at a hospital in West London.
Police are probing the events leading up to the knife assault at Hillingdon Hospital, which occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, May 26.
Officers who were already at the hospital for a separate matter were alerted to the incident and apprehended the 27-year-old suspect on suspicion of attempted murder and inflicting grievous bodily harm. The doctor, who is in his 50s, received treatment for his injuries, which were determined to be neither life-threatening nor life-altering.
The incident is believed to be related to mental health issues.
Reports suggest that a section of Hillingdon Hospital was temporarily closed while emergency services dealt with the situation. It’s understood that the hospital is now fully operational again.

Meanwhile, a teenager has been knifed and nine others have been detained following chaotic scenes at Clapham Common in south London.
Metropolitan Police officers rushed to the green space on Friday (May 22) after massive crowds assembled and violence erupted at the ‘unsanctioned event’.
Mobile phone clips from the Clapham Common meet-up showed gangs of youngsters trading blows with yobs seen wrestling on the grass while police worked to disperse the enormous gatherings. The unofficial event had been advertised across TikTok, drawing the substantial numbers of youth.
One teenager was transported to hospital suffering knife injuries, which medics confirmed were “neither life-threatening nor life-changing”, according to authorities.
The group were dispersed by officers after fighting broke out in the crowd, following this we made nine arrests. All of those arrested remain in police custody, reports the Mirror.
“We urge anyone who was at the event or who has any information to come forward to police by calling 101 and quoting CAD8948/22May.
“A police presence will remain in the area, and we’ll be reviewing CCTV and other evidence in the coming days.”
