David Sullivan’s fiancee Ampika Pickston has angered West Ham fans

West Ham owner David Sullivan’s glamorous WAG has enraged fans with her at best naïve post following the club’s relegation.

The Irons were relegated from the Premier League on Sunday after they were unable to better Tottenham’s result on the final day despite beating Leeds United 2-0 at the London Stadium.

Sullivan’s glitzy model fiancee Ampika Pickston was also in attendance to wish for the club to do Sullivan and herself a massive favour by scraping top-flight survival. But they failed to do so, and the knives have been firmly sharpened for the board, who have been the subject of protests for years.

Ampika could not have come across more disconnected from the feelings of the West Ham fans if she tried as she posted a picture of her wearing a glamorous see-through dress and standing on the club badge with her leopard print high heels on while sporting a huge grin.

The former Real Housewives of Chesire star then added a picture of her and her mates posing in the same spot before sitting next to Sullivan with her arm draped round the back of his chair while the West Ham mogul smirked for the camera – that was before he made an early escape from the director’s box as furious fans sang “You sold our soul for this s***hole”.

Ampika’s post enraged fans and she might as well have written “can’t wait to welcome Millwall next season” – her post couldn’t have spurred on more fury if she tried.

One fan slammed: “It’s the 5th time this ownership has been relegated so clearly lessons haven’t been learnt.” A second added: “Don’t you mean the only way is down.” While a third fumed: “GET YOUR FEET OFF OF OUR BADGE!!”

A fourth echoed: “Are you for real!?! Standing on the club crest smiling while we’ve just been relegated?? How NOT to read a room!” A fifth added: “Oh do me a favour!!!! Not even a West Ham supporter, not even a true footy supporter, yet has the audacity to post this!!!!”

Another user vented: “The only way we can reset is him walking away in the knowledge how much damage he has done. We were sold a dream, now living the nightmare.” As another comment asked: “Are you trolling the WH fans? This is surely a wind up.”

West Ham fans may take some comfort in the fact that manager Nuno Espirito Santo had agreed to remain as manager.

Following Sunday’s relegation, he apologised to supporters and said it had been a “strange” season that West Ham were unable to survive on 39 points.

He said: “It’s not about me, it’s us as a club, we are in a tough place and West Ham has to go back in the Premier League.

“But now we have to go through this period of sadness, understanding the frustration and anger of the fans, and rightly so, we have to thank them more than anything.”
