At least four people have been stabbed at a train station after the suspected knifeman reportedly screamed ‘Allahu Akbar’.
A large police operation is underway at Winterthur train station in Switzerland on Thursday morning. An area of approximately 100 meters is cordoned off with barrier tape. The new station underpass is also closed. In addition to numerous police vehicles, paramedics are also on site.
An eyewitness who works opposite the cordoned-off area told this newsroom that a middle-aged man shouted “Allahu Akbar” (God is greater) and stabbed four men with a knife. A school class was passing by the scene at the time, reports tagesanzeiger.
The area around the entrance to the main building housing the SBB travel agency is cordoned off. The cantonal police secured and photographed items there that are suspected of being related to the crime.
