Luke Littler has won Premier League Darts for the second time in his short career – beating defending champion Luke Humphries in the final.

Cool Hand had the better start of the age-old rivals, when he broke Littler at the first time of asking. However, Littler was in the match and broke right back to claw the score back to 1-2.

Littler was now on a roll, and he took two legs on the spin. Humphries needed something very special – and he found it with a magnificent tops tops. The O2 was alive, and so too was the final.

It was a masterclass from two of the greatest darting forces the sport has ever seen. Cool Hand had the advantage heading into the break – where both players were averaging north of 110.

It was punch and counter punch between two of the heaviest hitters from the oche. There were back-to-back eleven darters from Cool Hand while the Nuke threatened a nine.

Speaking on Sky Sports commentary, Wayne Mardle couldn’t hold his excitement: “This has been one of the best Premier League finals we have ever seen. The pace, the belief, the brilliance, the class.”

With the score tied at 8-8, Humphries almost popped the cork with a champagne finish – just coming inside on D16. Littler had a poke, but also went inside the wire allowing Cool Hand to nail D4.

Humphries just had to hold throw, twice, while Littler had to break the defending champion. However, Cool Hand was starting to look nervous while Littler played with his usual swagger.

The Nuke nailed seven perfect darts, missing the T17 for the nine. However, he took out 501 in 10, breaking Cool Hand and taking him one away.

Littler had found that extra gear that separates him from every other darts player on the planet.

And yet, while down on the canvas, Humphries broke back.
