Redorange tackles the Listed Betway Achilles Stakes at the East Yorkshire track and can take the leap in class in his rapid stride.
Usual rider Rossa Ryan is claimed for Starlust but William Buick should prove a more than able deputy.
Starlust is very good on his day but may need the run after a 347-day absence, while Celandine and Washington heights are other dangers.
Azure Angel is one for the each-way money. Ed Bethell’s mare is 11-1 and won a Listed race at Bath on her seasonal bow
It could be better late than never for LANGSTONE (3.45, nap) at Carlisle. The exciting three-year-old runs in the £100,000 Betway Silver Bowl Handicap, which was a victim of Haydock’s drainage issue last weekend.
Clive Cox’s son of Mayson has really impressed in winning both his starts this season at Doncaster and Kempton – and the way he finished off both races marked him out as a horse with a future.
At Kempton, Tales of Wisdom, who was fifth, is now rated 100 and the handicapper has given Langstone an opening mark of 87 today.
He is around the 5-1 mark which seems a fair price although Princling, Laureate Crown and Crest Of Fire are among a slew of rivals with loads of upside.
OPPORTUNITY (1.30, trb) will be a warm order to win the ITV opener at the Cumbrian track.
William Haggas’ lightly raced colt was a strong finishing third at Ascot three weeks ago and I am convinced he is a very well handicapped horse.
Victory in the Betway Handicap should see him book his ticket for one of the Royal Ascot handicaps.
The Betway Reverence Handicap is a typically tricky sprint handicap and BROSAY (2.00) gets the vote with Tom Marquand an interesting booking. He has been running better than the bare form would suggest.
I would not touch the short price about ESTRANGE (3.10) in the Betway Lester Piggott Filies’ Stakes.
She may well probably win but ideally needs some dig in the ground.
IMPARTIALITY (1.45) can kick things off for punters at Beverley – one of three ITV races from the East Yorkshire track.
Phil Makin’s four-year-old won three times on the spin at around this time last year and should be spot on after a couple of recent runs in the Napoleons Casino Hull Handicap.
The Hilary Needler Trophy is wide open and CRYSTAL QUEEN (2.15) can take a step forward from her debut second Trainer Richard Fahey has won this twice in recent years.
Big Cigar represents Fahey in the Beverley Two-Year-Old Trophy and has a chance but there was much to like about the way MATTEO (2.48) won on his debut at the track and from stall one he is a strong fancy to jump out and make all.
In the one ITV race at Chester, it is folly to ignore course specialist ROMAN DRAGON (3.30).
He has won eight times at the track, most recently 23 days ago under Oisin Murphy.
The champion jockey is on him again in the Virgin Bet Handicap and as long as he stays the extra furlong they look a formidable partnership.
