Mikel Arteta is set for a busy summer

Arsenal will mark their triumph on Sunday as the players, staff and more than 500,000 supporters flood the streets of north London for a trophy parade. The celebration will follow a five-mile route through Islington before concluding back in the Emirates area.

Jubilant scenes are expected as the Gunners mark the end of the club’s silverware drought following a series of near misses. But once the countless trophy lifts, cheers and toasts have concluded, normality will resume for Arsenal as next season’s preparations gather pace.

They cannot afford to rest on their laurels as their domestic competitors seek to narrow the gap to Mikel Arteta’s team, with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool poised for fresh beginnings under new bosses. Daily Star Sport delivers the latest Arsenal transfer updates…

Ex-Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has urged the Gunners to capture both Morgan Rogers and Julian Alvarez this summer, reports the Mirror.

Villa’s Rogers and Atletico Madrid’s Alvarez feature amongst the marquee names heavily connected with the Gunners, each commanding substantial valuations around the £100m mark.

Walcott told football.london: “We’ll take them both. What player would not want to come to Arsenal? Morgan Rogers would be exceptional. Villa have, of course, got Champions League and he’s English, so it would be a lot of money.

“But I think Arsenal would be able to attract any kind of player. Alvarez, I am a big fan, but I am also a big fan of [Viktor] Gyokeres. They [Arsenal] are going to add and build and get stronger. I feel like they can dominate for many years.”

Reiss Nelson returns

Reiss Nelson has returned to Arsenal after Brentford chose not to make his move permanent. The 26-year-old suffered an injury-plagued loan stint, restricting him to just 14 outings for the Bees this campaign.

The Gunners will now seek to offload the academy product, who has 12 months remaining on his deal and does not feature in Arteta’s future plans. His homegrown credentials mean any fee secured will count as pure profit under profit-and-sustainability regulations.

Brentford director of football Phil Giles said: “Reiss came at the end of last summer’s transfer window, having not played significant minutes since December 2024 while on loan at Fulham.

“While I’m sure he would’ve preferred more Premier League minutes with us during the loan, he has nevertheless made a good contribution with his positivity, attitude and experience around training and matchdays, and leaves us in a better place physically than when he joined.”
