A man has been charged following a chaotic brawl at an under-17s football match in Sydney, which resulted in an 18-year-old being hospitalised with a bite wound to his back. Emergency services were summoned to the incident at Amour Park on Iluka Street, Revesby in Australia, at around 3.30pm on Saturday (May 30).
The clash involved up to 40 individuals and police were informed that spectators had entered the pitch after players started fighting.
Paramedics attended to an 18-year-old lad for a bite injury to his back before he was transported to Liverpool Hospital for additional treatment for that and other injuries.
A 47-year-old man from Greenacre in Sydney’s south-west area was apprehended by police on Sunday and charged with affray and assault causing bodily harm.
The man is set to appear in Bankstown Local Court on 25 June after being granted conditional bail. Police investigations are ongoing. No further arrests have been made.
“NSW Ambulance paramedics treated an 18 year old man at the scene before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he received further treatment for injuries including a bite to his back,” NSW Police stated in a release.
“Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were informed that a number of spectators had entered the field of play after a fight broke out between players.”
