Liverpool are pressing ahead with transfer plans despite the managerial void at Anfield, with a key target reportedly favouring a Premier League move and a deal with Inter Milan emerging
Liverpool could forge ahead with their transfer dealings despite the managerial vacancy in the Anfield dugout.
Arne Slot was given his marching orders after two years at the helm, marking only the sixth time a manager has been dismissed at the club this century. Departing Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has emerged as the favourite to take over from the Premier League-winning gaffer, with talks anticipated to kick off this week.
The 43-year-old would become just the second Spanish manager in Liverpool’s history, following in the illustrious footsteps of Rafael Benitez. While the Reds’ hierarchy remains focused on securing a new manager, Yan Diomande is reportedly poised to settle his future. Meanwhile, chatter about a potential swap deal has begun to circulate.

Diomande preference
Liverpool’s interest in Diomande is no secret and the RB Leipzig starlet is thought to have made up his mind about his uncertain circumstances.
Reports from Spain suggest that the 19-year-old is leaning towards a move to the Premier League, with Paris Saint-Germain also vying for his services, reports the Liverpool Echo.
The Reds are currently without a manager but have reportedly promised the Ivorian a key role in their squad next season.
It’s an assurance the consecutive Champions League winners can’t provide with players like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue and Bradley Barcola already in their ranks.
Diomande found the net 13 times and provided 10 assists across 36 outings in all competitions during his maiden Bundesliga season.
Several pundits have pinpointed him as the prospective long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, with the forward believed to have a release clause worth around £86m.
Jones plan
Reports surfacing from Italy suggest Liverpool’s prospective acquisition of Denzel Dumfries could result in Curtis Jones heading in the opposite direction to Inter Milan.
The 25-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and has caught the eye of the Serie A champions.
Recent coverage indicated a ‘chasm’ persisted between the two parties, with Inter struggling to meet the Reds’ £25.9m (€30m) valuation for Jones – which sits £8.6m (€10m) above what the Italian outfit can afford.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness, the publication claims Liverpool suggested incorporating Dumfries in talks to close the gap in their assessment of Jones.
The Netherlands international is believed to have a £22m release clause included in his contract, though it remains uncertain whether either party plans to pursue additional discussions regarding Jones and Dumfries.
