Denmark’s game with Ukraine was bought to a stop in the second-half after a player collapsed on the pitch, leaving the remaining players huddling around him as he received treatment
A Danish player has collapsed during a friendly against Ukraine in Odense on Sunday evening.with players left in tears.
Christian Eriksen was the player to go down, according to Danish press, but reports claim he is conscious.
The second-half incident saw players from both sides huddling round the former Premier League star as he received treatment.
The match has been called off ahead of time following the incident, which bought up the emotion of Eriksen’s previous collapse on the pitch, which occurred at Euro 2020.
Eriksen reportedly grabbed his chest just before he hit the ground. He then received treatment and was later taken into an ambulance. It was announced over the loudspeakers that Eriksen was in good health under the circumstances.
The Dane received life-saving treatment during his country’s opening game against Finland in June 2021, eventually being resuscitated and taken to hospital.
Eriksen was later fitted with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) device, a type of pacemaker that is intended to prevent fatal cardiac arrests.
