Prince Andrew is reportedly demanding a payout for his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson following their eviction from Royal Lodge earlier this year, as the pair’s reputation remains in tatters
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is reported to have insisted on compensation for his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, after they were ousted from their previous Windsor residence, Royal Lodge, earlier this year. The former pair, who had been cohabiting despite their 1996 divorce, have witnessed their standing crumble due to their links with the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
They had previously occupied Royal Lodge since the early 2000s, with pressing demands for their removal emerging last year. The King subsequently intervened and expelled his brother and former sister-in-law, leaving Sarah’s location after the ejection unclear.
Sarah, 66, was later seen taking refuge in Austria, though her current location remains a mystery once more. Andrew has faced no charges and refutes any misconduct.
Appearing in the Epstein documents does not imply any wrongdoing.
During earlier discussions with King Charles, Andrew is reported to have launched a “fight back” – with the 66 year old allegedly believing he has been “used as a scapegoat”, reports the Express.
Alongside pursuing hundreds of thousands of pounds from the Crown Estate following his Royal Lodge lease termination in February, Andrew is purportedly seeking compensation for Sarah, who was also ejected and has subsequently fled the country, according to Daily Mail reports.
Lord Benyon, serving as Lord Chamberlain, is now reportedly mediating between the King and Andrew, with Charles believed to have no desire for direct encounters with his brother. This follows the King’s appearance at the annual Trooping the Colour in London yesterday, where the 77 year old was accompanied by other members of the Royal Family.
Andrew was notably absent from the event, as were his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Joining the King and Queen on the balcony were other royals including the Prince and Princess of Wales, their three children, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Princess Anne.
Sir Timothy Laurence, along with the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, also made an appearance.
