Prince Harry is reportedly planning to return to the UK in July for Invictus Games events, and sources say he hopes to bring Meghan Markle and their children – but there is “no chance” of him meeting with brother Prince William during his stay
Prince Harry is anticipated to journey to the UK next month. The Duke of Sussex is reportedly set to return to England in July to take part in “one-year-to-go” promotional activities and festivities in Birmingham for the Invictus Games in 2027.
The forthcoming 2027 games are planned to showcase approximately 550 competitors from 25 nations and will introduce three new sports: pickleball, laser run, and esports. The Invictus Games will make their comeback to the UK for the first time since the inaugural competition took place in London in 2014.
Prince Harry established the Invictus Games in 2014 after drawing inspiration from the US Warrior Games. As a former serviceman who completed two deployments in Afghanistan, he sought to establish an international stage that harnessed the strength of sport to assist wounded, injured, and ill military personnel in their physical and psychological recovery.
Sources told Page Six that Prince Harry “hopes” and “would love” to bring his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet back to England with him for the trip but that “no firm plans have been made.”
The publication also alleged that Harry “desperately” wants to bring his family to England to see King Charles. Nevertheless, Harry has consistently maintained that he considers the present UK security provisions inadequate for his family, reports the Express.
After his failed legal battle regarding police protection, he stated that safety concerns continue to represent a significant barrier to bringing Meghan and the children to Britain. Despite Harry’s reported eagerness to see his father, insiders told Page Six that there’s “still no chance” of a meeting between him and Prince William.
The two brothers have not been spotted together in public since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022.
William is said to still be smarting from the revelations in Harry’s memoir ‘Spare,’ which was published in 2023. The Duke of Sussex made a number of bombshell allegations about the Prince and Princess of Wales, including claims of a physical altercation and private family disagreements.
Harry was notably missing from his cousin Peter Phillips’ wedding to Harriet Sperling last weekend, reportedly having not received an invitation.
The occasion attracted several senior royals, including William and Kate Middleton, King Charles and Queen Camilla, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie.
