American women say they’ve got the hots for Scots after the Tartan Army’s invasion. Boston is now braced for a baby boom of Scots in nine months after American women said their ‘faith in men has been restored’ by partying Scotland fans.

The Tartan Army flooded the US city to witness the nation’s first World Cup appearance for 28 years. And they were not just winners on the pitch. While the team did their bit thanks to a 1-0 triumph over Haiti the fans were scoring too in the city’s bars and clubs.

Hundreds of women from Boston flooded TikTok with videos of them drinking, dancing and partying with kilt-wearing Scots.

One blonde who organised a date night called on Scots to visit a bar where 100 single US women were desperate to meet them. Another, who posted a video showing her in a Scotsman’s arms, wrote on the site: “I may not be happily married but at least I’m single while the Scottish are in town for the World Cup.”

A separate video, which racked up more than 70,000 likes, showed a fan carrying a woman on his back through the streets of Boston with a caption reading: “If he won’t, a Scottish man will.”

Another woman on TikTok hailed the ‘kindness’ of the travelling Brits – urging American men to take notes. She said: “If I was a single girly living in Boston right now… you need to go by the bars.

“If you don’t go you’re doing something wrong because you could find a nice Scottish man. They seem very nice. They wanted to pet my dog. So I’m just saying, you should all go.”

One woman wrote online: “Seeking out some cultural exchange as a group of single ladies in our 30s.” Another said: “Great legs and great accents. The kilt is superior.”

Someone else posted: “I got nothing to add except kilts are sexy AF. You all wear them well.” One more wrote she was ‘loving being surrounded by kilts literally any time I step outside to walk anywhere – bagpipes too – glorious’.

Another said: “Oh I’m out on the hunt tonight….will update if I find a Scottish man that whisks me away.” Others praised the Scots for ‘bringing the vibes’ to Boston as World Cup fever gripped the normally quiet city.

More than 50,000 fans flooded in with most staying all week ahead of Scotland’s second match against Morocco. Devon Savage, who owns the company which runs local bar Samuel Adams Taproom, said the Scots had ‘drunk them dry’ – quadrupling usual lager sales.

“For perspective, from Thursday to Sunday, the Tartan Army drank four times as much Boston Lager as we run through on a typical four-day holiday stretch like July 4,” she said.

“We had to schedule an emergency delivery on Saturday morning. We sold over 3,000 pints of lager over the weekend with our teams picking up 70 empty kegs on Monday.”

Other Boston pubs, bars and nightclubs notched up record sales. Despite the booze fest the Scots caused no trouble and wowed locals with their fun-loving partying.
