A fake Romanian escort has admitted killing two businessmen and poisoning others with a date rape drug to steal from them in a sex scam. Adina Mihai posed as a sex worker to get into the mega mansion of a rich property magnate Malcolm King, who was known as one of the world’s biggest game hunters.

She scammed her way into the £4million Cotswolds home of the 83-year-old, who died after his encounter with her. Mihai admitted administering a fatal dose of gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) to King just a short time after being invited into the plush six-bedroom mansion.

Police believe she laced his wine laced with the date rape drug before stealing his Rolex, and fleeing the scene with her waiting partner Madalin Dumitru in August 2024.

Father-of-two King was discovered dead by family members the next day, but it was initially thought that he had died of natural causes as the pensioner had unrelated heart problems diagnosed by the doctor.

But when another businessman died in identical circumstances almost a year later they connected the dots and realised King had also been duped.

The other man – Gary Mouat, 37 – who ran one of the biggest glazing companies in Oxfordshire – was found dead at his Banbury home on July 13, 2025 hours after his drink was spiked with GBL.

Police say there could have been a third victim as Mihai arranged to meet another man – who fell unconscious but did not die. He woke up around 6am the next day to find that his watch was missing.

Mihai was then hired by another man who saw her escort profile on the Vivastreet website. Police finally arrested the duo on suspicion of murder and conspiracy to steal.

Prosecutors said they believe the pair planned the attacks, taking items and then running from the scene.

At Oxford Crown Court the pair admitted two counts of manslaughter, and two counts of administering poison with intent to injure.

Mrs Justice Brunner warned the pair they will face ‘substantial terms of imprisonment’ when they are sentenced next month.

Both the Romanians pleaded guilty, and police now have sent the details of the crimes to other forces to see whether they could be linked to any other deaths.

Although they have not been able to link the duo to any other cases, detectives believe that some survivors may be too embarrassed to come forward after being tricked by the couple who came to the UK legally in 2023.
