A rapper who gunned down a 15-year-old boy at a music festival has been convicted of murder. Aderahman Boumzough, 25, fired a single bullet into Rene Graham’s chest at the in Ladbroke Grove in Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance Park on July 21, 2024.
CCTV footage revealed Boumzough coolly approaching the packed children’s play area around 7.20pm, moments before Rene’s life was tragically cut short. He also pursued and tried to shoot a second victim, but his gun jammed and he made his escape.
A £20,000 reward was previously put up for any witnesses who could provide information leading the Metropolitan Police to an arrest. Officers apprehended Boumzough in September 2025, where he was charged with murder and attempted murder.
Investigators discovered a mobile phone video of the suspect rapping while seeming to reference the firearm malfunction, saying: “Don’t you hate it when your ting jams? I was prepared to take soul, but Allah had a different plan.”
A jury found Boumzough guilty of both charges at Woolwich Crown Court yesterday (26 June) following a two-week trial, reports MyLondon.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who spearheaded the investigation, is now expressing her gratitude to a small section of the Ladbroke Grove community for their support in securing the conviction.
She said: “While only a small number of people came forward, I would like to thank those individuals who provided statements and supported the investigation, including attending court, who refused to allow a dangerous individual such as Boumzough to live amongst them.
“This conviction is the result of relentless work by officers who painstakingly reviewed hundreds of hours of CCTV footage to trace the gunman’s movements before and after the shooting.”
DCI Foxwell added: “My thoughts continue to remain with Rene’s family and friends. I thank them for their cooperation and patience throughout this investigation. I hope today’s conviction provides them with a form of closure.”
Boumzough will face sentencing at Woolwich Crown Court on Friday, 3 July.
