Alejandro Garnacho has a hard time making fans as it is, but the Chelsea winger has reached a new, weird low after showing off his “diabolical” new hair.

The Manchester United flop angered everyone connected with the club with his childish behaviour and determination to leave Old Trafford, as he fell out spectacularly with former manager Ruben Amorim, with an outburst when he was left out of the side that lost to Tottenham in the Europa League final and wore an Aston Villa shirt with the name of fellow outcast Marcus Rashford on the back.

But since turning up at Chelsea for £40million last summer, many Blues fans have already had enough of his antics, as rumours have already swirled he could leave Stamford Bridge if the opportunity arose.

Unsurprisingly, the 21-year-old’s form didn’t get him a call-up to the Argentina World Cup squad and it appears he’s spent his summer inviting more criticism by styling braided hair.

Garnacho debuted his new hair in a TikTok video, before other pics of the previously bleached blonde winger appeared online.

Fans on social media were obviously of the same opinion, with one fan saying about his look: “You may even be tempted to think it’s ai, this brother.”

A second said: “Someone please tell me this is ai WTF is this Garnacho.” A third added: “Is that really Garnacho with braids? I thought it was AI.”

Another wrote: “What is wrong with Garnacho?” As a fifth fumed: “Does Garnacho know this is Cultural Appropriation?”

And a sixth echoed: “Talk about cultural appropriation… This ain’t it Garnacho.” While another fan described it as “diabolical”.

Styles such as dreadlocks, cornrows and box braids have very deep roots in African cultures. They can often act as a symbol or identity, status or even historical survival, with many arguing that non-Black individuals opting for these styles can be problematic.

Earlier this month, Garnacho was mocked over his astonishing back tattoo. The 21-year-old winger decided to cover his entire back with a massive picture of Batman comic book and movie villain The Joker – leading to obvious jokes.

Renowned artist Joaquin Ganga, whose previous clients include basketball icon Lebron James, rapper Drake and singer Post Malone, tattoed the design that featured Heath Ledger’s Joker from the cult classic The Dark Knight. But football fans pulled no punches, claiming the only Joker was Garnacho himself.

“So this is what he’s using his free time to do. Now wonder he isn’t improving,” one fan replied. While a second said: “Has more tattoos than his total xG for the whole season…”

“Finally decided to show off who he really is,” a third joked. As a fourth responded: “Summed himself up, a joker!” And another added: “I’m not surprised he’s also a joke on the pitch!”
