Serena Williams returned to Wimbledon and her husband Alexis Ohanian was there to support her – but their youngest daughter Adira had to leave before the match started due to the venue’s age rules
Alexis Ohanian threw his complete backing behind wife Serena Williams as the tennis legend made her Centre Court comeback at Wimbledon. Williams is back at SW19 at the age of 44, four years since her previous appearance.
Both her daughters accompanied her, though her youngest, Adira, was forced to depart before play commenced due to regulations regarding spectator age limits. The American’s husband – whose net worth was valued at approximately £113million as of 2024 – was still relishing the spectacle and posted a message on social media which fans adored.
“We’re so proud of you mama – cheering section,” Alexis penned. His post featured two photographs – one showing Serena on court and another of him with both daughters preparing for the action to begin.

Numerous fans replied with their own messages of encouragement. “What a joy that your girls get to see their mama, the G.O.A.T., in her element. Sending good luck wishes to you all!” one commented.
“This is adorable” was the straightforward response from another, reports the Express.
Serena faced a stern examination from opponent Maya Joint, more than 20 years her junior. The Australian claimed the opening set 6-3 and a gruelling battle stretched into the evening.
While Adira was unable to observe, Serena’s elder daughter Olympia was permitted to witness the action as spectators must be five years old to remain. The age restriction also impacted Andy Murray in 2024.
On that occasion, only two of his four children were permitted to watch him compete. The crowd was in full voice, not least when the multiple former champion made her entrance.
As the match moved into its second set and the tension mounted, so did the volume from those assembled beneath the roof.
Supporters were vocal in their backing for the seven-time former champion, whose younger daughter hadn’t even been born the last time she graced Wimbledon. Indeed, Olympia and Adira are nearer in age to 20 year old opponent Joint than Williams is.
Prior to making her comeback, Williams confessed she left the choice until the last minute. “I think… I had until Monday to decide. I think it was like Sunday [when I decided],” she revealed.
“I just wasn’t sure up until then. Honestly, I’m still not even sure, but we’ll see (smiling). I think my feelings will be different,” she remarked over the weekend. “I think in general my expectations are definitely different for the first time in my career.
“I feel like my feelings are just – not that I never enjoyed it before, or else I wouldn’t be here today – but I feel like I’m really going to enjoy being out there.”
