Jet2 is encouraging passengers to pack one everyday item in their hand luggage to help avoid delays during the flight. The advice relates to what happens after take-off and could make the journey smoother for everyone on board.

On its website, the airline says the item can help keep flights running smoothly and efficiently. Within its “onboard service and conduct” section under ‘payments’, the site says: “To make our service as efficient as possible, we only accept card payments.”

Advising travellers to carry a card with them, as it may help avoid delays when making transactions, it continues: “We’ve also introduced a few updates to contactless, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. So, please bring your physical card to use chip and PIN when needed.”

Jet2 also reminds passengers to follow several other onboard rules. One important policy is that only alcoholic drinks purchased during the flight may be consumed, with alcohol brought onto the aircraft not permitted for drinking.

The airline cautions: “Only alcoholic drinks purchased on board may be consumed during the flight. Jet2.com reserves the right to serve alcoholic drinks at our absolute discretion.”

Addressing other onboard conduct regulations, Jet2 emphasises that smoking or using e-cigarettes is “strictly prohibited on all flights” in “accordance with safety laws”. Passengers are also warned that disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated onboard.

The aircraft captain holds the authority to refuse boarding or take action against anyone considered disruptive, disorderly, or likely to present a risk or cause inconvenience to fellow passengers or crew members.

The airline warns: “Anyone falling foul of this provision shall be liable to indemnify us in full against any liability or loss we may suffer as a result. In addition, they may be prevented from flying with us in the future.”
