The Wimbledon star has a crazy dating history
The Wimbledon Centre Court clash between Grigor Dimitrov and Matteo Berrettini on Saturday night is being hailed as the battle of the heartthrobs. And Bulgarian ace Dimitrov has romanced some stunning celebrities throughout his playing career.
The 35-year-old endured heartache in 2025, taking a two-set lead against Jannik Sinner in the fourth round before a crushing pec injury cut short his campaign. He’s returned to the same stage this year and will have the support of his famous girlfriend Eiza Gonzalez.
But the Mexican actress isn’t the only high-profile name to have been romantically linked with the crowd favourite.
During his early 20s, Dimitrov formed half of a tennis power couple alongside Maria Sharapova, who was dubbed the world’s hottest athlete. They parted ways in 2015 but seem to have maintained an amicable relationship since, despite going down different paths.
“We experienced wonderful moments together,” Dimitrov said at the time. “I wish her much happiness and success in life and in tennis.”
Later that same year, the Bulgarian began dating Pussycat Dolls vocalist Nicole Scherzinger, who had herself ended things with Lewis Hamilton just months before.
In 2018, the tennis player spoke candidly about his romance with Scherzinger, 13 years his senior. “That’s one of the most important things in any relationship. I think both of our successes have come because we help each other,” he told OK!
“The long distance and our time schedules are difficult, but it is what it is. That’s how things are at the moment.
“I got her on the [tennis] court once. She has great head/eye co-ordination but we’re so limited on time that we try and spend time together just for us.
“Not on tennis or doing her craft. We appreciate that time a lot.”
Dimitrov even discussed the prospect of starting a family with Scherzinger but their romance ultimately came to an end in 2019. Since then he has been romantically connected with several women including Lolita Osmanova – the daughter of a Russian billionaire – and Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
He has been with Gonzalez, 36, for over a year. The Mexico City-born actress, recognised for her performances in films such as Baby Driver and Godzilla vs Kong, posted a birthday tribute to her partner on Instagram in 2025.
“Happiest bday to the man of my dreams,” she wrote. @grigordimitrov you’re one of one.
“You truly are my absolutely favourite human, and I can’t believe I’ve been lucky enough to find you. You’ve restored so much in me I didn’t think was possible.
“To the kindest most thoughtful and caring man. I admire every inch of the human you are and are becoming. I cannot wait to celebrate many many more.”
