Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal switch information from £140m double deal to ‘number one target’

Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are all preparing for a busy, and expensive, summer of transfers to bolster their squads.

The Premier League’s three biggest and most successful clubs’ latest transfer activity and news is summarised here as Daily Star Sport looks at all the latest dealings from Old Trafford, Anfield and the Emirates Stadium.

West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville is reportedly United’s primary wide target. The 24-year-old can now concentrate fully on his future following the Netherlands’ penalty shootout defeat to Morocco in the World Cup’s round of 32.

Sky Sports claims that Summerville represents United’s “number one target” for the left wing, though they face rivalry from other Premier League sides for his services. The Dutchman has previously carried a £50million price tag.

The report states that United have conducted preliminary discussions with the Hammers, while clarity regarding Summerville’s future is anticipated following his World Cup elimination. The Dutch international netted twice and registered two assists across four tournament appearances.

Meanwhile at Old Trafford, Marcus Rashford has maintained that he will not make any decisions regarding his future during the World Cup. The England striker remains a United player after Barcelona opted against triggering their £26m purchase option earlier this summer.

“I was very clear with everyone involved before the World Cup, I wanted it (a move) done before,” Rashford stated. “If it’s not, I wanted it to wait until after. I want to be fully present in the moment. We’re fighting for something special.”

Rashford earned selection in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad after bagging 14 goals and contributing 14 assists for Barcelona. Meanwhile, United manager Michael Carrick utilised Patrick Dorgu and Matheus Cunha as his left-sided attackers during Rashford’s absence last season.

Over at Anfield, Aurelien Tchouameni appears set to remain at Madrid this summer. The tenacious midfielder has been linked with a transfer to Liverpool for some time amidst persistent rumours of his potential departure from Los Blancos for a fee in the region of £77million.

As early as 2022, ex-Reds manager Klopp was reportedly keen on bringing the French player to Anfield. Just last month, TEAMtalk reported that Liverpool were confident they could secure the player’s services this summer.

However, Madrid’s new manager Jose Mourinho, now in his second stint with Los Blancos, has allegedly halted any such move. TEAMtalk suggests that despite interest from Liverpool and Man Utd, Tchouameni will stay put in Madrid.

The report asserts that the 26-year-old, who has played a crucial role in Madrid’s recent successes, “will be given the opportunity to establish himself as a guaranteed starter next season.”

The Gunners are looking to enhance their attacking arsenal in preparation for their title defence next season, with Arteta reportedly set to face stiff competition in the chase for Dario Osorio. The 22-year-old Midtjylland winger, dubbed the ‘next Alexis Sanchez’, played a pivotal role in Mike Tullberg’s side clinching the Danish Cup last season, scoring eight goals and supplying 10 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.

The Chilean’s contract runs until June 2030 and while the Gunners represent an appealing option, the Midtjylland sporting director has confirmed that Arsenal aren’t the sole Premier League or European club pursuing their rising star. According to ADN Deportes, as quoted by Sport Witness, Osorio is now being targeted by Benfica.

While former Gunners ace Emmanuel Petit believes Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke should sanction the £140m double signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle and Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.

He said: “Bruno Guimaraes is a good player. If you add Ayyoub Bouaddi as well, there are some great options out there for Arsenal.”
