A reality show star has sparked controversy after begging fans for cash to fund an exotic trip to the Maldives – and a boob job. Ava Karabatić, a Croatian Big Brother celeb, took to her social media, openly asking her followers and fans for financial help.
Ava directly called on people to send her money so she can fulfil what she described as her “life wishes”. She wrote: “Dear ones, help me go to the Maldives and get bigger boobs.
“It’s always been my wish to go to the Maldives and I still haven’t gone.” The demand ignited backlash as she asked fans to send her €15,000 (£12,600).
In the appeal, Ava reportedly even shared her bank details and IBAN on her Instagram Stories, urging fans to transfer money directly. She claimed her breast implants, fitted 20 years ago, now need replacing because they were not made to last “like they do now”.
She further wrote: “Every day is a risk because microplastic is slowly poisoning the body.” When critics accused her of “begging”, Ava hit back by saying she is “not used to working” and has always had things handed to her in life, Srpskainfo.com reported.
She added: “If you’re wondering what you get out of it, you do of course, because I’ll post more provocative photos with my new boobs. I know you won’t disappoint me.
“At least I’m honest. I could write that I need it for food and life, but why lie.” In the Balkans, Ava is a household name and a magnet for controversy, constantly making headlines.
Ava, 38, was born in Split, Croatia, and rose through the 2010s by becoming what critics call a “professional celebrity”.
She appeared on major reality shows across the region including Survivor, The Farm, and she finished third on Celebrity Big Brother, known locally as Veliki Brat.
Like many 2000s-era glamour stars, she boosted her profile with high profile Playboy shoots, before being hired to present controversial late night reality talk shows.
Ava has a university degree in Italian language and Latin literature, and is known for switching from playing clueless to quoting classical texts. In 2019, Ava announced she was running for President of Croatia and released a political manifesto.
Among her headline proposals were mandatory sex education in schools, legalising prostitution to regulate it and collect taxes, easing adoption laws, and stronger environmental protections.
