Count Binface has been handed a massive election boost after it emerged six in 10 voters reckon Nigel Farage has questions to answer over undeclared gifts from a convicted criminal.

According to the research almost two thirds of punters reckon the former metals trader has acted incorrectly in relation to funding from wealthy pals and only half of Reform voters back him over the issue.

A YouGov survey found that 60% of the public believe Mr Farage has acted incorrectly, with only half of Reform voters saying he has behaved correctly.

The Reform leader announced last week he would quit as MP for Clacton to stand in the ensuing by-election after facing scrutiny over his finances, particularly a £5m gift he received from crypto-billionaire and Reform donor Christopher Harborne.

Meanwhile, Mr Farage’s personal ratings have fallen to -27 percentage points, while support for his party has fallen by two points, down to 24%, according to Opinium.

The Reform UK leader maintains he has done nothing wrong despite claims he is engulfed in a “mountain of sleaze” and said the £5m gift from Mr Harborne was personal and did not need to be declared.

Reports also state he is facing fresh scrutiny over claims he was bankrolled by from crypto-gambler and convicted crook George Cottrell.

According to the Labour Party the Electoral Commission is “carefully considering” the undeclared donations to Farage from the crook – known to his mates as “Posh George”.

The party’s chair Anna Turley has now urged the body to probe further allegations surrounding the donations from the convicted fraudster, saying: “The mountain of sleaze engulfing Reform just keeps growing.

“If George Cottrell has been bankrolling Reform’s offices in secret, that is against the law and Reform must face the consequences.”
