A Babestation model training to become a psychosexual therapist has revealed that Britain’s biggest bedroom block isn’t a lack of desire – it’s crippling shame. Valkyrie Awakens, who admits she ‘loves a good chat’, is famous for diving headfirst into the naughty topics that leave most Brits blushing.

So when the 41-year-old announced her latest career pivot, her friends and family weren’t shocked in the slightest. Valkyrie is now set to use her unique expertise in ‘connection and building tension’ to rescue shy Brits who are too terrified to open up about their secret sexual fantasies.

Speaking on the Option One Podcast, presented by Babestation, she said: “People can have so much shame around their kink. That’s why I want to do [study] psychosexual stuff.

“You have to kind of be able to be a therapist [to do my job]. I think a lot of people just want somebody they can talk to without feeling judged. Fantasy versus reality is really something that people don’t get.

“I am by no means an expert in any of these areas – it’s my experience. I would never tell people, ‘This is how you should be.’ People have their own dynamics, their own wants and needs, and their own fantasies.”

It’s no secret that horny Brits harbour plenty of wild bedroom desires. A recent survey into the UK’s top 10 “naughty search histories” exposed an obsession with older women, with searches for “Grannies”, “MILFs” and “Mature” dominating the rankings.

Meanwhile, separate research exposed the bizarre times people love to get their freak on. The data showed randy Mancunians love a Wednesday afternoon porn session, while cheeky Bristolians prefer a Friday treat at around 1pm.

But whatever your particular kink is, Valkyrie insists there is no need for embarrassment – as long as consent, honesty and communication remain strict non-negotiables.

She said: “Trust is major and consent is key. It’s not rules, it’s boundaries. People shouldn’t feel embarrassed for having fantasies.

“The important thing is making sure everything is safe, consensual and respectful. I’d love to help people understand themselves a little bit better.”

Valkyrie credits her time at Babestation for flipping her perspective on sex and the adult entertainment industry, giving her a masterclass in the importance of trust and boundaries.

The presenter now hopes to qualify as a psychosexual therapist, mixing her official academic studies with her real-world, lived experience to help Brits build healthier relationships.
