Go on a Journey to recollect at Hamilton Park on Thursday, says Jason Heavey

The Daily Star’s chief tipster Jason Heavey thinks Jim Goldie’s mare will enjoy success at Hamilton on Thursday

TAKE a trip with JANNAS JOURNEY (4.00, nb) in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap at Hamilton Park on Thursday.

The daughter of Sioux Nation enjoyed a remarkable 2025 when a seven-time winner from six furlongs to a mile.

The charge of Jim Goldie was slow start to this season but she was back to her best when resuming winning ways at Carlisle 12 days ago.

On that day, she beat the reopposing Inspired by half-a-length and can repeat that, even with a 3lb rise in the weights.

In the feature event at the Scottish track, I’LL BE BACK (3.25) is expected to maintain his unbeaten record for trainer Karl Burke in the Wellman Cars Private Hire Almada Mile Handicap.

The Lope De Vega colt was odds-on for his racecourse debut at Doncaster in November and ploughed through the testing conditions to win comfortably.

CALL NICKI (1.50) looks the one to be with in the opening British Stallions Studs EBF Nursery Handicap.

The Soldier’s Call filly performed creditably in defeat on each of her first four starts, albeit she was beaten at odds-on in the last of those races at Carlisle.

However, the winner of that race, Charlie Johnston’s Redline, has subsequently followed up at Ayr, so perhaps Call Nicki’s run was not as disappointing as it first appeared.

She has since opened her account over this course and distance and a revised mark of 73 looks more than fair ahead of bid to follow up.

ALNAYEF (5,10, nap) looks a worthy favourite in the Hamilton Park Centenary Year Handicap.

Another Jim Goldie runner, he raced into uncontested lead when finally getting off the mark over C&D three weeks ago.

The five-year-old had seven lengths in hand that day and could well enjoy similar success here.

Elsewhere, I like the look of MILITARY LEADER (4.45, trb) in the Thirsk Sky Bet Summer Festival Day Friday 24th July Handicap.

The five-year-old completed a double when making all over C&D in May.

And the Phillip Makin trainee again ran well to finish a clear second in a run-of-the-mill handicap at Chester last time out.
