Gorgeous blue skies Britain are set to greet the start of the school holidays as three August ‘Mediterranean meltdowns’ look set to hit the UK.

After almost a fortnight of roasting temperatures, sun lovers are in for another treat with 27C highs this week, climbing to 30C by Friday. Beaches and parks are set to be packed as many flock to the seaside during the most popular getaway week of the summer break.

Showers next week will green up parched grass, with temperatures easing a little but still an above average mid 20s. And forecasters say roasts are due again by the start of August, with heat roaring in from the Mediterranean.

Weathermen reckon a scorching 38C could be on the cards, with top forecaster Brian Gaze saying tjhat Exceptional temperatures have been seen in three heatwaves already this summer.”

Gaze said “With heat and extreme temperatures continuing on the continent, forecast models indicate this warmth pushing from around the Mediterranean to Britain at times during August.

“Summer peak temperatures have often been recorded in early August in the past, and highs pushing to the high 30s are likely ahead.”

A Met Office forecaster said: “High pressure will remain in charge with plenty of sunny spells and dry conditions. A more unsettled period follows early next week, especially for the North.

Temperatures may become very warm again by the start of August. Further into August, temperatures are very likely to remain above normal, with further hot spells, particularly for the South.”

While the UK is set for yet another period of record breaking heat, some Brits will face some rain in the upcoming week, with much of the north and and east set to be hit by wetter spells over the next few days.
