Betty the French bulldog became a viral sensation after an image of her breasts during pregnancy was posted on the internet with fans calling saying she had “Scotland’s biggest boobs”
A viral dog that became loved by the internet for having the “biggest boobs” has sadly passed away after her devastated owner paid tribute to pub with the “biggest heart”.
Betty the French bulldog became an internet sensation for a photo of her carrying large milking breasts during pregnancy. The photo, taken as Betty was being taken to the vets for a C-section, saw the pup dubbed by fans as a dog with “Scotland’s biggest boobs”.
Sadly the beloved pet who was loved by “the whole internet” passed away earlier this month. Her devastated owner and dog-mum, Elizabeth Durnan, 43, confirmed that her “wee girl” died in her arms after suffering a stroke.
On July 8, Betty was laid to rest with dozens of heartbroken mourners gathering for an emotional funeral service in Glasgow.
Elizabeth, from Glasgow, said: “She was so loved by everyone that knew her – and the whole internet!
“Her passing has left such a big void, we did everything together and she is going to be so missed.”
Betty was a source of strength for Elizabeth through some of the darkest moments of her life when she battled four cancer diagnosis, a stroke and three heart attacks.
Elizabeth said: “My husband bought me her eight years ago because we couldn’t have kids together – she was my real baby.”
The beloved pup was described by Elizabeth and her family as “incredibly sassy, cheeky and spoilt, with the biggest heart”.
Having stayed at most of Scotland’s hotels and often refusing to sleep on the floor without her own bed, Elizabeth said Betty was treated “like a princess”.
She said: “In every place she went she had her own bed, and in our home alone she had three couches and 11 beds! Anytime we went to the vet or out somewhere she wouldn’t sit on the floor, she would have to have a seat!
“Even when we went to the park and all the dogs would be running and lying about, Betty would go off to do her business and then come back and sit on a bench.
“Loads of people say this about their dogs, but she was so human – she didn’t even like people touching her hair. Every Christmas Betty had special jammies, and every birthday she had a big cake and party. She used to go to hydro pools and just loved the pub. We will miss her terribly.”
