Demi Oliver and Kelly Rees attacked Warren Harper after a night of drinking at a house in Precelly Place, Milford Haven – he was so terrified, he considered jumping from a window
A man was chased around a house by two women, one being the mother of his child, and was cut and slashed by both. Demi Oliver, 26, and Kelly Rees, 36, were in a property on Precelly Place in Milford Haven with Warren Harper when neighbours reported hearing loud voices and music, following an evening of drinking.
All three were acquainted with each other and lived nearby, with Oliver and Mr Harper having previously been in a relationship and sharing a child. During the assault – which occurred on July 27, 2024 – Mr Harper was chased around the home and barricaded himself in the bathroom while both Oliver and Rees pounded on the door.
Prosecution barrister Dean Pullen informed Swansea Crown Court that Mr Harper attempted to exit the property but saw Rees – who had consumed crack cocaine – in the kitchen brandishing a knife. As he went to retrieve his bag, Rees sliced him on the wrist with a Stanley knife, reports Wales Online.
He was also slashed by Oliver who wielded a different knife.
Mr Pullen told the court that at this point Harper ran upstairs and considered trying to flee through a window. Deciding it was too high to leap from, he returned downstairs and managed to force his way out of the house while “bleeding profusely”.
He was transported to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest via ambulance with stab wounds to his wrist and arm and later required surgery.
Oliver and Rees both admitted to unlawful wounding and were sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on Wednesday.
Barristers David Singh and Ian Ibrahim provided mitigation for Oliver and Rees respectively, but Judge Huw Rees cautioned that both defendants would be handed immediate prison sentences, despite the incident occurring two years prior.
Judge Rees stated: “The victim sustained very serious injuries, not a nick causing a superficial injury. They were two significant wounds to the victim’s left wrist and arm.”
Oliver, from Precelly Place, Milford Haven, received a 17-month prison sentence.
Rees, of Waterloo Road, Hakin, who is currently serving time for a robbery in Milford Haven, was given an additional 27 months behind bars.
