The UK is in the grip of Powerball fever as the world’s biggest rolling jackpot game enters its second week in the UK. Players this week have the chance to win the biggest ever win seen in the UK with a jaw dropping £352 million jackpot.
The life-changing prize is up for grabs in tonight’s (Wednesday) draw, with the numbers pulled in the US in the early hours of the morning.
Brits are being warned to buy their tickets by 11.55pm tonight (Wednesday July 29) to be in place to win the Thursday morning draw, and if no one wins it – it will again rollover until the next one.
The Powerball is played three times a week in America on Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays in America, which works out as the draws taking place every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday in the early hours in the UK, with the time difference.
Recent research found that almost one in five – 19% – say they would splash out on friends and family if they won Powerball, treating loved ones to an experience they’ll remember forever.
Andy Carter, Senior Winners’ Advisor at Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, said the sky is the limit for the eventual winner of the eyewatering amount.
He said: “We’ve all imagined what we’d do if we won the lottery, but £352 million takes those dreams to another level.
“Instead of trying to secure tickets to the biggest festivals of the summer, you could be planning your own, with headline performers, luxury camping and enough room for thousands of friends, family and guests.
“It’s the sort of prize that turns even the wildest ideas into a genuine possibility.”
If a UK winner were to take home this colossal jackpot prize, they would soar straight to the top of The National Lottery winning leaderboard by some way, comfortably overtaking the £195M anonymous EuroMillions winner from July 2022.
The biggest-ever Powerball winner was a $2.040 billion jackpot won by a player in California in November 2022 but it has been only two weeks since Brits have been allowed to play for their chance to bag the prize.
Powerball tickets cost £4 a line, and players can pick their own five numbers and one powerball number, or opt for lucky dips.
