Liverpool information: Bradley Barcola big switch increase as contemporary proposal provided

Liverpool are yet to make a signing this summer, but talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola are ongoing as PSG close in on signings of their own

Bradley Barcola has been linked to PSG this summer

Liverpool’s transfer window has been rather quiet compared to what many fans had expected. Nevertheless, it appears poised to burst into life as negotiations with PSG over long-term target Bradley Barcola gather pace.

Jeremy Jacquet and Victor Munoz are yet to make pre-season appearances. The former is moving closer to his Reds debut after recovering from an injury, while Spain World Cup winner Munoz is approaching the end of his post-tournament break.

It is the chase for Barcola that continues to grab the headlines, with developments elsewhere in the transfer market strengthening Liverpool’s bargaining position. Here is a roundup of the latest transfer news…

PSG are moving closer to signing two wide players in a clear sign they are preparing for life without Barcola. They have allegedly begun talks with Ajax regarding a £51million move for Mika Godts, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The Champions League winners are close to landing Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco for £43m. With Desire Doue, Ibrahim Maye and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia already at the club, the wide areas look destined to become increasingly crowded.

Something must give way, and that ‘something’ is Barcola. Liverpool have no intention of matching PSG’s £145m valuation, but the pending arrivals of Godts and Akliouche at PSG should strengthen their bargaining power.

Inter Milan are ready to raise their offer for Curtis Jones. Inter have already completed John Stones’ signing this summer and are keen to bring in another England international, having previously seen an initial bid of approximately £21m rejected.

Inter are preparing a £30m proposal, though that still falls short of the Reds’ £35m valuation for the 25-year-old, who has 12 months left on his deal.

Representatives working for Inter have now established renewed contact with Liverpool and have expressed the club’s willingness to enhance their proposal.
