Lewis Hall has surfaced as a potential target for Manchester United this summer, with high-ranking officials at the club reportedly giving the go-ahead to pursue a transfer for the Newcastle full-back.
United are believed to see the England international as the perfect long-term replacement for Luke Shaw and are thought to be considering an initial bid of around £60m for the 21-year-old, reports the Manchester Evening News.
According to Fabrizio Romano, United bosses have given the green light for a move for the left-back: “Man Utd consider Lewis Hall an ideal player to add to their squad. So, he is on Man Ut’d list, for sure, and he is a player internally approved.”
Alex Scott ‘open to Man Utd move’
United might not be done revamping their midfield, with Bournemouth star Alex Scott reportedly receptive to a transfer to Old Trafford this summer. According to Ben Jacobs “it’s quite an open race at the moment”.
Scott, 22, remains amongst the most coveted young midfielders in England, with Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal all continuing to track his progress.
However, it is understood Scott is weighing up his options rather than leaning towards any specific club. Chelsea, however, are said to have had a £64m offer turned down by Bournemouth.
Bournemouth are thought to rate the midfielder at around £70m, although a transfer tug-of-war between multiple top-tier clubs could drive the final price tag nearer to £80m.
