The jailed mother of Henry Nowak’s murderer has been moved to the unit where killer nurse Lucy Letby is held in the “female monster mansion”.
Kiran Kaur was last month sentenced to three years in prison for removing the weapon her son Vickrum Digwa used to kill 18-year-old Henry.
We can reveal she has been sent to HMP Bronzefield and placed in House Block Four alongside child killers.
Along with her and Letby in the unit are Beinash Batool, serving life for the murder of her 10-year-old stepdaughter Sara Sharif, and Constance Marten, jailed for gross negligence manslaughter over the death of her baby Victoria.
House Block Four at the category A jail near Ashford, Surrey, is often used as a place of safety for high-profile inmates. Prisoners there are said to be able to visit a hair and beauty salon, and cells have ensuite showers, TVs and DVD players.
There is also a “nice restaurant” that serves Thai green curry, poached eggs on toast and full English breakfasts. A prison source said: “It’s not like a male nick – it’s cushty.”
The source said staff believe Kaur was sent to the unit after she “pretended” she could not speak English to avoid being sent to a main unit.
Kiran, 53, was jailed for three years last month after being found guilty in May of assisting an offender by removing a knife from the scene of Henry’s murder in Southampton last December.
Judge William Mousley told Southampton crown court she “took the knife and put it at home with other weapons” in Digwa’s bedroom, adding that “a responsible parent would have challenged their son”. Her role was “crucial in removing the murder weapon from the scene”, the prosecution told the court.
Digwa was jailed for life with a minimum term of 21 years for the student’s murder. After fatally stabbing Henry, who was from Essex, Digwa falsely claimed to police that he had been the victim of a racist attack.
Police bodycam footage later showed Henry being arrested despite having suffered several stab wounds.
Digwa was sent to HMP Frankland, or Monster Mansion, where reports last week claimed he was “shaking in fear” after being targeted by some of Britain’s most notorious inmates.
