A celebrity Bigfoot hunter has accused a prestigious university of launching a cover-up after officials denied examining the remains of the mythical beast. Charles Stuart, who goes by the nickname “Snake the Bigfoot Hunter”, sent shockwaves through the cryptozoology community last month when he shared what he claimed was an official DNA analysis from Cornell University.
Stuart insists the document proves an 8ft, 300lb Sasquatch carcass he allegedly stumbled upon in upstate New York’s Adirondack Mountains is genuine – and roughly 60 per cent Neanderthal.
However, Cornell University has rubbished the claims after a spokesperson for the Ivy League institution told the New York Post: “Cornell did not conduct any testing for [Stuart] or present a report.”
They added that the documents displayed on Stuart’s website did not originate from the school.
Despite the firm denial from academics, the famed monster hunter refuses to back down, insisting university chiefs are desperate to hide the truth about the corpse, which he has named “Dack.”
In a furious response, Stuart said: “Cornell is flat out lying – I will not be silenced.” Fuming over allegations that the paper was a total hoax, he added: “This isn’t a dispute over the facts of the report – it’s panic over control.
“I bypassed the machine and went straight to the public. I was warned from day one not to share this report. I released the unredacted DNA report anyway because I believe in transparency and the intelligence of the public.”
The tracker now claims he is ready to blow the lid off the alleged cover-up as part of an upcoming documentary.
According to Stuart, a whistleblower lab technician who allegedly ran the tests will feature. He said: “This is essentially a David vs Goliath story and we all know who wins in the end.”
Stuart claims he discovered the rotting beast in 2024 before putting it on display at The Great New York State Fair, where his website insists more than 60,000 curious people queued up to catch a glimpse of Dack.
Sceptics argue the entire saga is a publicity stunt engineered to drum up hype ahead of this year’s fair, which runs from August 26 to September 7, with Dack scheduled to make another appearance.
Even fellow Bigfoot trackers have poured cold water on the wild story. Matthew Moneymaker, founder of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization, publicly slammed Stuart on social media, labelling him a hoaxer and a scammer.
Moneymaker’s own organisation said it recently confirmed an alleged Bigfoot encounter in Connecticut, where a local man claimed to have come face-to-face with a Sasquatch in the wild.
