Donald Trump is seen sat next to George Washington and Abraham Lincoln in the bizarre image shared by the US president in what appears to be his latest experiment with AI
Donald Trump has been branded “deranged” after he shared a bizarre AI portrait of himself sat next to George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
The world leader, 80, posted the image of himself with the two US presidents – widely considered the greatest in American history – in his latest spree on his Truth Social platform on Sunday night.
In the mock-up painting, Mr Trump is seen at a wooden table alongside Mr Washington and Mr Lincoln, with what appears to be an upside-down map of the United States placed in front of them.
Mr Trump, who has developed a habit of posting strange, often crude pictures on his social media, did not explain why he had shared it.
Another AI-generated image shared a few hours earlier showed a slimmed-down Mr Trump in an Elvis-style low-cut jumpsuit exposing his bare chest, decorated with two sequined bald eagles.
He also likened himself to the American War of Independence hero in another image on Sunday, which showed his face spliced half-and-half with Washington’s.
The digital poster, which again appeared likely to have been created with an AI model, read: ‘250 years – in God We Trust’.
It marks Mr Trump’s latest effort to spin the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States with his own political career, with him frequently attempting to cast his own political movement as a modern continuation of the American Revolution.
This summer, critics accused the president of politicising the anniversary by staging campaign-style rallies and diverting federal funds to his “Freedom 250” task force, undermining a bipartisan commission established by Congress a decade earlier.
MAGA supporters went on to recirculate the image of Mr Trump with Lincoln and Washington on X (formerly Twitter), claiming it showed “three American legends.”
But critics were quick to turn the tables on the US president in their own pictures, mischievously swapping out Mr Washington and Mr Lincoln for the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to taunt the president over his ongoing second-term scandal.
Another user edited Mr Trump into a clown, while one critic labelled the president’s original post as “deranged.”
Mr Trump’s biggest controversy involving mocked-up images came earlier this year when he shared a since-deleted image of himself as Jesus Christ healing a bedridden man with his bare hands.
He would later claim he thought it showed him as a “doctor” after intense backlash from religious conservatives.
