Chloe Burgin, 27, from Atherstone, Warwickshire, had been considering a breast reduction since her late teens but after receiving a bonus at work she finally booked the procedure in Istanbul
A woman who endured mockery over her 36GG breasts and spent £2,400 to reduce them by three cup sizes says “she can’t win” as trolls now brand it a “stupid thing to do”.
Chloe Burgin, 27, jetted off to Istanbul on May 11 for breast reduction surgery and uplift, with surgeons removing 1kg of tissue. The two-and-a-half-hour procedure cost just £2,450 and included a private ensuite room, all pre-op consultations, assessments and tests, as well as post-op check-ups and medications.
Chloe says her chest has always been “a massive insecurity” and she had contemplated a reduction since her late teens, but after receiving a bonus at work she booked the operation.
She also found herself on the receiving end of comments about her chest on social media, including ‘you’re never going to hurt your nose if you fall over’ or ‘I doubt you’re short of attention with boobs that size’.
After sharing her reduction journey on TikTok, she says the commenting didn’t stop, with people even saying ‘what a stupid thing to do’.
Now 12 weeks into recovery, Chloe says she feels “1,000 times better” after the procedure and while she hasn’t been measured yet thinks she is a 34D or a 36C.
Chloe, an education adviser, from Atherstone, Warwickshire, says: “It always used to be, and it sounds bizarre, the first thing people looked at.”
“I got sick of the comments and stuff over the years. There was a lot in life I restricted myself in doing. They were just too big for my body.
“If I wore a vest top like anyone else, people would just say I was flaunting them on purpose. I found myself purchasing oversized clothes which then made me appear larger than I actually was. People assumed I was constantly seeking attention. Now, people tell me ‘you’re glowing’ and my confidence has greatly improved. I feel 1,000 times better,” she shared.
Chloe began exploring surgical options in January 2026 after receiving a work bonus. “I thought, ‘now’s the time’,” she expressed.
“It reached a point where it was becoming a joke. People would make random comments. It got to the point where I genuinely became fed up with it. Even when I booked the surgery, it didn’t stop.
“People said ‘oh people pay thousands for boobs like yours’ or ‘what a foolish thing to do’. It discouraged me from going out as I would worry about what people would say about my outfit.
“I’d spend a week trying to find something suitable to wear for an event. Once, I spent £500 on swimsuits for my sister’s hen do at a spa, just so I could find ones that would accommodate my bust.”
Initially quoted £12,500 at a clinic in the West Midlands, Chloe expanded her search and eventually booked her surgery in Istanbul through Longevita. “I probably spent a solid month doing research,” says Chloe, who spoke to Talk to the Press.
“I was really pleased and they offered me a comprehensive package. The surgery cost £2,450 and included a breast reduction mammoplasty with uplift, pre-op, consultation, assessment.”
“It included a private room, ensuite bathroom for the night for me and my sister and food”.
She jetted off to Istanbul with sister Ella, 25, on May 11, spending six nights at a five-star resort.
Following her operation on May 13, she felt well enough to hit the shops the next day before jetting back home on May 17.
“I took it really easy for the first couple of weeks,” she says. “I was a 36GG and I’m going to be honest I haven’t been measured yet but after trying on bras on at home I’m definitely a 34D or a 36C.”
“I wasn’t scared about surgery or being put to sleep, I wasn’t scared of any of it – I was more scared being at home living on my own.
“I followed the surgeons advice in recovery and it was tip top.
“I don’t actually have clothes that fit in my wardrobe anymore.
“Which is weird because I haven’t lost a drastic amount of weight. I can wear cute little tops, plunge tops and halter tops.
“The before and afters in my clothes, the difference is insane. I genuinely think, ‘I can put that on and feel great in it’ now.”
