Cristiano Ronaldo is due to get married this weekend
Gemma Atkinson previously revealed what it’s really like to date Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Hollyoaks star allegedly enjoyed a romance with the iconic Portuguese football in 2007 while he was at Manchester United. Ronaldo will marry his long-term partner, Georgina Rodriguez, today, with whom he has been with since 2016.
The pair will tie the knot in Madeira, the island where the striker was born and raised. However, long before he met Rodriguez, a young Ronaldo was romantically linked to former Hollyoaks and I’m A Celeb star, Atkinson. The Strictly Come Dancing alumni revealed in 2022 that the duo spent a night-in and watched a popular British TV programme together.

She said: “We went to my house, drank cups of tea and watched Only Fools And Horses. Genuinely! I don’t know if he’s into it now but he seemed to enjoy it.”
Atkinson also claimed that she was offered substantial money to discuss their relationship. However, the Emmerdale actress has always refused to divulge any details.
The 41-year-old added: “When we did split up, I got offered so much money to speak about him. And I didn’t want that.”
Ronaldo moved on from Atkinson – and Manchester – signing for Real Madrid in 2009, going on to become one of the greatest footballers of his generation. The ex-United man and Rodriguez first met in 2016.
Rodriguez announced the pair’s engagement on social media in August 2025, telling her followers: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
She recently revealed the touching message from her husband-to-be after being subjected to vile body shaming trolls. She said: “I was talking about it with Cris and I told him, ‘I’m worried that they’re calling me fat now, because I make a living from my image’.
“And he replied, ‘You don’t live off your image. You live off who you are. A perfect woman. Beautiful, with a great body, a mother, a good person, successful, and who lives life with love. What more could you want? It’s normal to be envied’.
“Sometimes we all need someone to remind us what truly matters.”
