A karaoke singer dubbed the “new Crazy Frog” has sent the internet into meltdown after belting out the 00s classic – and the crowd absolutely loved it.
Pub-goer “Sweetcheeks Lozza” went viral after a video captured her high-energy performance of the 2005 novelty hit Axel F by Crazy Frog.
The clip quickly spread across TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), with fans erupting over the hilariously nostalgic moment and crowning her the UK’s latest karaoke icon. The now-famous performance took place at The Old Still – a historic, traditional real ale pub in Wolverhampton city centre.
And instead of offering a normal singalong, Lozza went all in on the bizarre, high-pitched engine noises that made the animated character infamous.
Rather than trying to sing “lyrics”, she aggressively committed to the signature sounds – the “Ring ding ding ding bem bem…” motorbike-style squeals – and the packed pub went wild. Online, people couldn’t get enough of it, calling the clip a perfect snapshot of British pub culture at its finest.
One stunned viewer wrote: “There’s no real lyrics! Why the f*** is this on a karaoke machine?”
Another X user wrote: “Some people ask what it’s like to be from the UK. This, this is the answer.
“Other countries don’t know what they’re missing.” Others were equally obsessed, with one simply posting: “This is awesome!”
Another joked: “This is all I hear when I pull up to karaoke a hour late and everyone is already 7 beers deep.” A separate individual chimed in: “F***ing hell bruv you always get a banger pub video every now and then don’t you.”
And it turns out the “new Crazy Frog” is already a local legend. “Sweetcheeks Lozza” is a Wolverhampton regular and karaoke enthusiast whose real name is Zoe, according to online community posts and event descriptions.
She uses “Sweetcheeks Lozza” on TikTok and X, while much of her performance footage is shared through a local pub network under the TikTok profile @lorixx62. Locals say Zoe is a frequent and well-loved performer at The Old Still. The 2005 mega-hit “Axel F” by Crazy Frog remains one of the most successful, chaotic and polarising pop culture moments of modern times.
Its bizarre origin story starts years before it topped the charts. In 1997, a 17-year-old Swedish student, Daniel Malmedahl, recorded himself imitating the high-pitched revving of a two-stroke moped engine as a joke for his friends. The sound file then spread around early internet forums under the name 2TAKTARE.MP3, long before it became a global brand.
In 2003, Swedish animator Erik Wernquist stumbled across the clip and spent weeks building a 3D animation around it. His original creation wasn’t called Crazy Frog at all – he titled it The Annoying Thing.
The ringtone firm Jamba! later licensed it, renamed the character Crazy Frog and heavily monetised it, a move Wernquist openly hated because he detested the generic new name.
