One of UK’s favorite theme parks compelled to shut as thrill-seekers instructed ‘do not come’

A water outage forced Chessington World of Adventures to close on Monday, with fun-seekers warned not to turn up to the south-west London theme park to avoid disappointment

The theme park has been forced to close for the day

Chessington World of Adventures has been forced to close today with thrill-seekers told not to come to the theme park to avoid disappointment.

The theme park and resort, located in south-west London, said it has shut up shop for the day because of a water outage in the area. It added that tickets booked for Monday, August 10, would be returned or could be reused.

It’s not yet known what has caused the outage or when things will be back up and running. It comes in the middle of the school summer holidays, which will be one of the busiest times for theme parks.

Chessington apologised for the inconvenience and thanked visitors for their understanding. In a notice on its website, the theme park said: “Closure Notice (10/08): Due to a water outage in the local area affecting our operations, Chessington is closed today.

“All tickets booked for today will be automatically revalidated under our Return Promise and can be used on a future date. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.”
